On this page you can find resources to help your students throughout the school year. This page contains resources to help with math and science outside of the classroom. To access the resource, just click on the name of the resource in the headings below. More information on each of the resources are listed below as well.
Khan Academy
Khan Academy contains videos that shows step-by-step instructions on how to complete problems for various subjects all throughout different grade levels and subjects. Khan Academy can be used in grades K-12, and even into college.
Discovery Education
Discovery Education/parents is a website designed for parents to help students find resources to help them with homework. Links are provided by subject area for homework help. Much of what is available through Discovery allows students to receive help through games, and other activities.
Common Core Conversation
Common Core Conversation specifically lists resources to receive help on math problems and homework. Some of the links provided through this website includes: Khan Academy, Learn Zillion (example shown from class), and many more. This website was created for teachers to find lessons for students, however, it could be a valuable resource at home as well.
IXL
ixl.com allows students to practice 10 problems per day over various 6th grade topics. The best part about this program is that when you answer a question incorrectly it provides feedback before asking another question.
Math Playground
Math Playground is a website that allows students to play math games and logical thinking games to simulate the brain!
Math is Fun
Math is fun is a website that students have used in class many times. This is where we get most of our vocabulary for our units in 6th grade. There are many other resources available on math is fun!

Sort of like the game of life! Situations happen, things come up, can you maintain your money for 30 days!
Middle School Science
Middle School Science contains lessons and resources for teachers, many of which can be helpful at home as well.
This website contains information regarding rocks and minerals.
Smithsonian Science Education
Smithsonian Science Education contains many lesson plans for teachers that help explain key concepts that take place throughout science.
